How does one adequately explain MacKnit??
We're history buffs, with a strong pull to the British Isles and Western Europe and all the lovely heraldic history it has to offer. Although some of our items may not seem to be totally historically accurate, please do check out our Knitting In History section ... we think you may be surprised just how far back some of these crafts go! Knitting machines have been around since the time of Queen Elizabeth I, so although we employ modern methods, the concept and principles of our craft are firmly entrenched in the annals of history.
The House of MacKnit was established in 1993 by Margaret Parker (who loves to recreate historic designs). There are so many more things in the future of The House Of MacKnit so do keep dropping in every now and then to see what all we've been up to.
If you are in need of specific graphics or designs translated into a knitting graphic, please do contact us. We're also going to be producing the 'squared' graphic for needlepoint and cross stitch for most of our designs.
