Helmeted Shield designs range in stitch sizes of 120stitchs x 218 rows, to 186 stitches x 242 rows. Stunning central portion of an afghan, or a hanging banner to display your coat of arms. These designs were originated on plain old graph paper many years ago and then converted into the DAK (Design-A-Knit) software. We will provide you with the .pat files for electronic machine knitting as well as graphs of each pattern for those who wish to hand knit these shields. Ordering information below.
FREE Afghan pattern - Highland Thistle (shown below). On a gauge of approximately 5 stitches by 7 rows to the inch, this lovely afghan will measure 34" x 47". Pattern size is: 170 stitches by 334 rows. As you can tell by our afghans, we personally prefer not to have a border, but this one is easily expanded to include a border of your choice.
